Buffett is the author of the New York Times 2010 best-selling book, "Life is What You Make It." Proceeds from this fundraising event will support and promote arts education programs at the College of Arts and Humanities at Fresno State, the State Center Community College District, the Fresno County Office of Education and University High School.

A new edition of Chuck Carson's "Bob and Bing" show is paying tribute to the Blossom Trail. "Bob and Bing: Road to the Blossom Trail" stars Lynn Roberts as Bob Hope and Bob Pasch as Bing Crosby in this stage salute to old-style radio programs, complete with commercials. Proceeds benefit The Central California Veterans Home Support Foundation.

You saw the movie. Now's your chance to see the stage adaptation of "The Hobbit" in a version adapted by Patricia Gray from the original book by J.R.R. Tolkien. It features many popular characters from the book including Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf and Gollum, as well as dwarves, elves, goblins and trolls.

If you can't get enough Foreigner -- after seeing them at The Big Fresno Fair last year -- then go see Double Vision, our local Foreigner tribute band playing Saturday night at Frank's Place.
The six-piece band, still in its infancy after forming in early 2012, plays a litany of Foreigner hits, such as "Waiting For a Girl Like You," "Head Games" and "Cold as Ice," plus at least a dozen more.
Frank's Place, if you've never been, is next door to Warnors Theatre. The show is open to all ages.

For its first Fresno performance since winning the $100,000 Texaco Country Showdown in Nashville, Poor Man's Poison heads to Crossroads nightclub Saturday night.
The Hanford-based band -- whose style is a mixture of Americana, folk, country and rock -- won the national competition two weeks ago, besting about 50,000 bands in the annual talent search.
Saturday night, Poor Man's Poison is joined by Restavrant and Blue Crown.

Latin pop icons Los Temerarios are a big ticket Saturday night at the Fresno Convention Center's Exhibit Hall.
In its 30-year career, Los Temerarios have appeared on the Billboard album charts 39 times, which was enough for a Billboard Lifetime Achievement award in 2010.
Tickets cost $40 in advance, then jump up to $55 the day of the show.
