Despite two falls Saturday night, Ashley Wagner repeated as women's champion at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

Wagner became the first woman to win consecutive national titles since Michelle Kwan's eight straight championships (1998-2005).

The 21-year-old Wagner, who finished in fourth place at the last World Championships, fell during her triple lutz and during a triple loop sequence in the middle of her performance. She still recovered to get a free skate program score of 121.27 to finish with a two-day total of 188.84 points.

That was just enough to end Gracie Gold (186.57), who moved from ninth place after the short program all the way to second.

The 17-year-old Gold, the 2012 U.S. Junior national champion, had 132.49 points during the free skate.

Agnes Zawadzki, who won last year's short program and was second after Thursday's competition, ended in third place with 179.63 points.
