Students at Sunnyside and Roosevelt high schools got a first-hand look this week at the dangers of sending text messages while driving.

AT&T's It Can Wait campaign urges teenage drivers to resist sending texts while behind the wheel. Students sit in a driving simulator that helps them understand what distracted driving looks like.

According to AT&T, more than 100,000 crashes occur each year nationwide because of drivers who are distracted while attempting to send a text message.
