Junior shooting guard Ronchel Ortal scored a game-high 28 points to put him past the 1,000-point mark as Orosi beat Kings Christian 56-46 in an East Sierra League game.

Central, ranked No. 2 in the Central Section by The Bee, rode 35 points from Murshid Randle to a 72-49 Tri-River Athletic Conference-opening win over Buchanan.

No. 1 Bullard remained undefeated against section opposition as Corey Silverstrom's 14 points keyed a 69-27 County/Metro Athletic Conference win over Madera South.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Freshman point guard Zoe March matched a team-high eight points with six rebounds, five assists and three steals to guide Immanuel to a 39-34 victory over Kingsburg in the Central Sequoia League. Olivia Sorenson also had eight points for the Eagles.

Corissa Turley's 22 points and 10 rebounds lifted No. 9 Redwood over Golden West 58-17 in the West Yosemite League.

BOYS SOCCER

Santiago Gaspar and Adrian Salas scored as section No. 3-ranked Roosevelt took control of the North Yosemite League race with a 2-0 win over No. 5 Sunnyside.

Edgar Navarro's two goals helped No. 7 Central down Clovis 5-2 in the Tri-River Athletic Conference.

Jose Gonzalez and Edgar Bejano scored as Edison upset No. 6 Madera 2-1 in the CMAC.
