Clovis fire crews rescue woman trapped in burning apartment

Firefighters rescued a woman who was trapped inside an apartment that was on fire Wednesday night in Clovis.

The fire was reported about 8 p.m. at the Minnewawa Apartments near Minnewawa Avenue and 8th Street, Clovis fire Capt. Chad Fitzgerald said.

Firefighters contained the blaze to one room of the apartment.

The victim suffered severe smoke inhalation and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.

No other details were immediately available.
