A 74-year-old man was in serious condition Sunday after his car was hit by a truck at the intersection of Clovis and Scott avenues in Clovis, police said. The crash closed the intersection for four hours.

The man has severe head and neck injuries after a truck collided with the passenger side of his car just after 1:22 p.m., Clovis police said. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.

The truck's driver and passenger had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The collision is under investigation, but police said alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
