Prep sports highlights: Dinuba QB leads Emperors to hoops win

BOYS BASKETBALL

Five days after quarterbacking Dinuba in the Central Section Division III football final, Marcus McMaryion dropped 19 points on Riverdale during the Emperors' 80-29 win at the Immanuel Tournament.

Edison coach T.J. Wilkins secured career win No. 200 in his 12th season overall as Edison, behind Phillip Randles' 30 points, beat Tulare 99-86 in the Hanford Tournament.

Mulder Burton's 25 points led McLane past Coalinga 60-33 at the Kingsburg Lions Club Classic.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Monache, in Division I after winning two straight section D-II titles, received 14 points, six rebounds and five steals from Emily Hardin, and another 12 combined steals from Desirae Garay and Brianna Baldwin, in a 57-49 win over Clovis East.

Veronica Miller scored 20 points in Yosemite's 58-31 win over Central, while Brittany Sims' 10 points helped Edison get past Sierra 51-43 in first-round games at the Hoover Holiday Classic.

BOYS SOCCER

Larry Valencia and Kento Rose each scored a pair of goals as Sunnyside downed Hanford West 6-0.

Juan Fernandez's goal was the difference in Madera South's 1-0 win over Clovis West.

GIRLS SOCCER

Clovis West opened its season with goals from Danielle Rowland, Hailey Flores and Emiko Kubose in a 3-1 win over Memorial.
