Reedley College baseball clinic features UCLA, Long Beach St. coaches

The Reedley College Central Valley Baseball Coaches Clinic on Dec. 1 includes UCLA coach John Savage and Long Beach State coach Troy Buckley as speakers.

The 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. clinic has nine sessions and costs $100. Lunch is not included.

Savage, whose UCLA teams have won the last two Pac-12 championships and gone to the College World Series two of the last three years, will lead two sessions on pitching, one focusing on the mental part of the game and the other on planning workouts.

Buckley will also lead two sessions, one on catching and another on "Mental game -- prepare to prepare."

Former Fresno State coach Bob Bennett will conclude the day with a talk on "Championship play." Other speakers are Reedley coach Steve Pearse, Reedley assistant Josh Labandeira, Clovis High coach James Patrick and Darren Holt, an expert on groundskeeping.
