Four Arizona men were found guilty Wednesday of a series of home-invasion robberies in Fresno and Merced counties two years ago.

A Fresno County Superior Court jury needed just half a day to reach guilty verdicts for Christian Rodriguez, Esteven Landeros, Gilbert Beltran and Christopher Escobedo.

Five other men who were part of the home-invasion spree were previously found guilty and sentenced to a minimum of 22 years and a maximum 48 years to life.

The jury found Rodriguez, 19, and Landeros, 23, guilty of 10 counts each, including five counts of home-invasion robbery, one count of assault to cause great bodily injury, intimidating a witness and assault with a firearm.

Escobedo, 27, and Beltran, 21, were found guilty of five counts each, including two counts of home-invasion robbery, and one count each of conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with a firearm and criminal threats.

The monthlong trial includes a second phase that starts today to determine if the men were part of a gang. Finding them guilty of a gang enhancement will result in longer prison sentences.

One of the nine men convicted was from Fresno; the others was from the Phoenix area.

Nobody died, but there were injuries in the series of violent robberies, which were carried out by the men between Feb. 24, 2010, and March 16, 2010, in Clovis, Atwater, Kerman and Selma.

The cases alarmed law enforcement officials because of their brazen nature and the large number of crimes that occurred over such a short period.

Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims described the robberies as "blitz-type attacks."
