BOYS WATER POLO

  • Redwood's Jarret Jones made eight saves and four teammates each had two goals as the Rangers -- ranked No. 9 in the Central Section -- held off El Diamante 9-7 in a battle of unbeaten West Yosemite League rivals.
  • Max Cusator scored four goals and No. 2 Buchanan bounced back from its first Tri-River Athletic Conference loss of the season -- 11-10 a week ago to No. 1 Clovis -- by beating Central 24-6.
  • Third-ranked Clovis North beat No. 4 Clovis West 9-4 in a TRAC showdown of section defending division champions. Landon Labosky recorded nine saves to help key the Broncos defense. Clovis North has moved up from D-II to join Clovis West in D-I this year.
  • Sixth-ranked Memorial beat Sunnyside 15-9 in a County/Metro Athletic Conference match Tuesday, with Patrick O'Rourke's four goals and Tristan Ferdinandi's 11 saves leading the way. The score was incorrect in Wednesday's editions of The Bee.
