GIRLS TENNIS HIGHLIGHTS

Central Section fourth-ranked Merica Jizmejian of Clovis East defeated No. 5 Eryn Piearcy of Clovis West 6-2, 6-3 as the No. 6 Timberwolves beat the No. 7 Golden Eagles 7-2 in a Tri-River Athletic Conference dual match.

Vicky Ly and Wendy Fang defeated Makayla Quinn and Crystal Bagent 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles to secure Hoover's 5-4 win over Fresno in a North Yosemite League match.

GIRLS GOLF HIGHLIGHTS

Clovis West tied what is believed to be the section all-time low for a 9-hole tournament, totaling 188 to win a Tri-River Athletic Conference mini-tournament at Belmont CC. Buchanan was second at 288. The Eagles' Camille Orito and Laura Scrivner shared medalist honors at 34.

BOYS WATER POLO HIGHLIGHTS

Richard Grey and Ryan Orellana scored three goals apiece and unranked Sunnyside edged No. 6 Memorial 11-10, despite 11 saves for the Panthers' Tristan Ferdinandi.
