Motorcyclist in fatal crash north of Clovis ID'd

12:15 p.m.: The Fresno County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist who died when he crashed into a car north of Clovis on Saturday afternoon.

The 20-year-old man was Andrew Leeds of Clovis, the coroner's office said.

Leeds was driving south on Fowler Avenue about 3:20 p.m. when a woman driving north on Fowler turned left onto westbound Behymer Avenue and into the motorcycle's path, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Craig Hinch said on Saturday.

Leeds died at the scene. The woman and her two children, a 12-year-old and 15-year-old, were not injured.

The case is still under investigation.


Saturday: A Clovis motorcyclist died Saturday when he crashed into a car making a left turn north of Clovis, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Craig Hinch said.

The 20-year-old man was driving south on Fowler Avenue about 3:20 p.m. when a woman driving north on Fowler turned left onto westbound Behymer Avenue and into the motorcycle's path, Hinch said.

The man died at the scene. Hinch said he has not been identified. The woman and the two children in her car were not injured.

Fowler Avenue south of Behymer was closed for about an hour after the crash, the CHP said.
