Youths present Hmong film

"Hmong Voices," a film project by Hmong youth documenting their cultural folktales, will premiere Thursday night.

The project, organized by the The Center for Multicultural Cooperation, is a series of mini-documentaries by children and teens from our local community. In the films, the youth talk to their elders about their culture, with the aim of the preserving their history for future generations.

Thursday's premiere will include live music, dance and live theater in addition to the film premiere. Performances will come from three Hmong local clubs: Suab Hmoob Txuj Ci, Nkauj Hmoob Paj Zeeg and The Hmong Acting Club.

The event takes place from 5:30-8 p.m. at The Loft in the Tower District, 1028 N. Fulton St. It's free to attend and open to all ages. Details: (559) 445-0015.
