He's qualified because: Key force in the Tigers' late charge that resulted in the Central Section Division II title for a sixth seed, the 5-foot-4 left-hander struck out 20 in 13 innings while giving up only nine hits in beating third-seeded Hanford and Tulare in the quarters and semis. Then he closed a 6-2 win over Mt. Whitney in the championship. He finished with a 1.60 ERA and 106 strikeouts in 91 2/3 innings, and he also scored 27 times and stole 14 of 15 bases as a leadoff hitter.
