He's qualified because: Established himself immediately by hitting over .300 in the West Yosemite League as a freshman and then took off in a four-year career that counted 120 hits -- No. 2 in school history. The second-leading vote getter in the WYL behind that conference's Player of the Year, Preston Scott of Hanford, the 6-3, 225-pounder hit .402 with seven home runs and a .692 slugging percentage, and also went 8-1 with a 2.79 ERA.
