He's qualified because: His 6-9 was section's season best and 6-6 landed him sixth on state meet podium -- the first medal in school history in the event. All this despite ankle and toe injuries. "They were distracting," Knights coach Fabian Barrett says, "but he kept jumping, and that says a lot about his character. I have no doubt he would have gone 7 feet if healthy."
