He's qualified because: Won Bullpups' first Central Section gold medal in 13 years by timing 47.81 in the 400 meters. School's last winners were in 1999 with Michael Herring (boys 800) and Lexine Lesser (girls pole vault). Cantu was third at CIF State Championships in 48.13, a day after winning prelim heat in school-record 47.73. He received Hanford's first state medal since Juan Chavira's third in 1,600 in 1998.
