He's qualified because: Close runner-up to Central's Willie Alexander as Bee Athlete of the Year in boys track and field, he delivered in section Masters meet, winning five times, but only getting credit for four. He won the 100 and 200 and anchored winning 400 and 1,600 relays. Then he won 200 again after re-run forced by electronic-timing malfunction. He finished unbeaten against section competition in 100 (best of 10.74) and 200 (21.74). Also a Bee All-Star receiver in football.
