He's qualified because: Swam an All-American 49.74 while winning D-I gold in the 100 fly, missing the section record by 0.74. It's a mark that appears well within Wright's grasp the next two years after he shaved nearly a second off his time from last season. He was fourth in the 100 back (53.27), and swam the third leg while helping the Golden Eagles' 400 relay team set the Central Section record with an All-American 3:05.17. Also a member of champion 200 medley relay team (consideration All-American 1:36.66). "He's just a phenomenal, elite-level butterflier," Clovis West coach Adam Reid said of the only area swimmer still in high school to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials.
