She's qualified because: Chacon dominated while winning the 500 free (5:08.22) at the Central Section D-I Championships, finishing more than 16 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer. She was second in the 100 butterfly (59.48, .06 behind first place and a Buchanan record), and helped the Bears place third in the 200 medley relay (1:55.55) and fourth in the 400 free relay (3:45.38). "She has a tireless focus on the challenge of a race," Buchanan coach Jennifer O'Meara said. "She doesn't let pressure or excitement distract her." Chacon won the 200 IM and 500 free at the Tri-River Athletic Conference Championships and was first in the 500 free at the Foothill Swim Games in Tustin.
