She's qualified because: Broke into the scene with a seventh-place finish at the Clovis West Invitational in April, scoring a season-best 355.25 points. Against most of the same competition, she improved her placing to sixth at the Central Section D-I Championships, where she scored 335.70 points. Funk, who has a background in gymnastics, contributed 13 points to the Golden Eagles' 16th straight -- and closest in recent memory -- section team title. "It was great to have such a young diver come into the program who wants to work to get better," Clovis West coach Adam Reid said. "I said all year that our girl divers were going to help us win CIF, and it came true."
