She's qualified because: Established herself as a future Central Section force with a second-place finish in the 500 free and a fifth-place effort in the 200 free at the D-I finals. Her times of 5:24.97 and 2:01.39 were the third- and seventh-fastest times overall between the D-I and D-II finals. Hauss also was a member of the Cougars' D-I second-place 400 free relay (3:40.76) and a member of the 200 medley relay team that settled for eighth place after disqualifying. She was fourth in the 500 free at the Clovis West Invitational. "She takes her training very seriously," Clovis coach Susie Kelpe said. "After each and every race, she always comes up to ask how she can do better the next time."
