Police on Friday found what appears to be a homicide victim in a Clovis apartment, Clovis police spokeswoman Janet Stoll-Lee said.

Clovis police received a call about 6 p.m. from Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno asking them to check the welfare of someone in an apartment on the 3130 block of Willow Avenue.

When there was no response from within the apartment, officers obtained a key from the manager and found a dead man inside.

Officers scanned the apartment for other people, then left to await a search warrant.
