Fresno police released a new list of the five people the department says are the city's most prolific car thieves. It's the second such list released by the department.
Several of those named in a 2011 release, including Tino Tufono and Robert Wollert, have since been arrested. Tufono faces homicide charges and Wollert was sentenced late Wednesday to five years probation.
The new list is topped by Gabriel Osorio, a 21-year-old man who was arrested 13 times in 2011. As in the case of other suspected car thieves, Osorio was often quickly released because the Fresno County Jail was over capacity.
Next is Larry Burgin, 33, who was arrested six times in 2011 on what police say were a "wide variety" of property and drug crimes. Number three on the list is Ralph Jasso, a 35-year-old aressted eight times last year and once this year. The fourth man is Francisco Delarosa, 33, who has prior arrests on drug, property crime and auto theft charges. Rounding out the list is Jeremiah Gutierrez, 26, who was arrested 10 times in 2011 on auto theft and related charges.
Anyone with information on car thieves, chop shops or stolen parts is asked to call the department's Career Criminal Auto Theft Team at (559) 621-CCAT.
