Kaweah Daughters of the American Revolution honors Valley students

The Daughters of the American Revolution's Kaweah Chapter honored students from the central San Joaquin Valley during a ceremony last Tuesday in Visalia.

Winners of the American history essay contest were all from George McCann Memorial Catholic School in Visalia: Megan Catherine Boone, sixth grade; Claire Stetson, seventh grade; and Tyler Costa, eighth grade.

High school seniors who received Good Citizens awards were Haley Marie Seeger, Golden West High in Visalia; Elizabeth Castaneda, El Diamante High, Visalia; Alexandra Merritt, Hanford West High, Hanford; Erica Chung, Mt. Whitney High, Visalia; Megan Geiger, Redwood High, Visalia; and Jacob Deitz, Woodlake Union High, Woodlake.

Seeger also received a Kaweah Chapter scholarship.
