GABB Fitness has moved into a new building in Clovis.

GABB, which means Get A Better Body, was operating out of NorthPark Church at Maple and Shepherd avenues for nearly two years. But a growing number of members and bigger dreams caused its owners to relocate to a 5,000- square-foot space at 1433 E. Menlo Ave. in Clovis.

The new building, called The Playground, allows the owners to expand their classes and offer new ones.

"We can do things now that we were not able to do before,"said Angela Nash, who operates The Playground with her husband, Lamont.

Among the new additions will be a 900-piece rock wall and a zip line. The Playground also will continue to offer classes in kickboxing, self-defense, zumba, yoga, golf fitness and bootcamp-style fitness training. It also will be the home to the Central Valley's Greatest Loser contest and The Bar Gorillaz, an athletic program for boys and young men.

Marketplace opens

Paul Gilchrist has moved his outdoor flea/farmers market concept to the parking lot of the former Fresno Ag building at Gettysburg and Blackstone avenues.

Gilchrist used to be involved in the outdoor market at Manchester Center, but a disagreement with the mall's manager caused him to relocate. Although Manchester continues to operate a farmers market on Fridays, Gilchrist's new market will be open Thursdays and Fridays starting this week.

Called The Midtown-Marketplace, Gilchrist's new venture will include more than 90 vendors. The year-round marketplace will offer a mix of items including food, Guatemalan blankets, American Indian art, clothing, honey, farm fresh eggs, olive oil, fruits and vegetables.

There will also be an area where live animals will be sold, including chickens, parakeets and doves.

The Midtown-Marketplace will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or dusk.

"I really think people are looking for something like this and we hope they come out and visit," said Gilchrist, who can be reached at (559) 352-2064.

CLICK expands

Clovis-based CLICK has expanded distribution of its espresso protein drink to Mexico.

The 5-year-old company's drink is already sold in many GNC stores in the U.S., along with The Vitamin Shoppe and amazon.com.

GNC began selling CLICK in its Mexican stores late last year and eventually will sell it in all 300 stores there, said CLICK co-founder Beth Smith.

"It's the first time that we're taking the brand internationally and introducing it to customers outside of the U.S.," she said. "For us, that's a big first step."
