Japanese-American World War II veterans will be honored by the Central California District of the Japanese American Citizens League this year at the 2012 Day of Remembrance Luncheon on Feb. 19.

Veterans or their surviving spouses will receive replica medals that are identical to medals given out at last month's national ceremony, said Dale Ikeda, chairman of the event.

Veterans and their spouses are invited free of charge, and can invite one guest, Ikeda said. Tickets are $40 for nonveterans. The reception will be held at noon, and the medal ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Building on Fourth Street.

To make a reservation, call (559) 434-1662 before Feb. 12.
