Former "Bachelorette" contestant Kasey Kahl was arrested over the weekend after he was involved in a drunken brawl with a couple outside a northwest Fresno nightclub, according to police.
Kahl, a 29-year-old who attended Clovis High, was described in a police report as "very intoxicated and belligerent." He was taken into custody because officers determined he was "unable to care for himself in public."
Kahl was booked into Fresno County Jail on a charge of disorderly conduct involving alcohol. According to jail records, he was no longer in custody Tuesday.
Kahl protested to officers that he was a "celebrity," according to the police report about the scuffle early Sunday with the couple outside Club Habanos at Palm and Herndon avenues.
Officers were sent to the nightclub about 2 a.m. Kahl was pointed out by nightclub owner Adela Padron, who said Kahl had been detained by the nightclub's security.
Police made contact with the couple -- Renee Idsinga, 21, and Richard Chaney, 25. Idsinga said she and Chaney were outside the club when Kahl approached them and began talking to Idsinga.
Idsinga said Chaney told Kahl to "stop talking to her." The couple said Kahl then hit Chaney several times in the face and head, the report said.
Idsinga said she tried to pull Kahl off her boyfriend and scratched Kahl's neck. She said she was also hit in the face by Kahl, the report said. She suffered a bloody nose but refused treatment.
Kahl told police he was "jumped" by the couple and had no idea why he was assaulted, the report said. He also said he "was a celebrity and he was on several reality shows."
When officers asked him how much he had had to drink, he replied, "A lot," the report said.
Both Kahl and the couple said they wanted to press charges. The couple was allowed to get a ride home. Kahl was booked into Fresno County Jail.
