Former big-league pitcher Vida Blue, San Francisco Giants catcher Chris Stewart and Giants coach Mark Gardner will be the guest speakers for the 51st Hot Stove dinner Jan. 28, the Fresno Grizzlies announced today.
The event, rekindled by the Grizzlies in 2003 after a 13-year absence, begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Fresno Convention Center. Tickets are $60 for adults, $40 for children (12 and under) and $540 for a table of 10.
Blue, who joined with Jim Palmer to headline the 1979 dinner that sold out in a few hours, was a six-time All-Star in a career that stretched from 1969 to 1986. He pitched for the Giants, Oakland As and Kansas City Royals.
Stewart started last season with the Grizzlies but ended up sharing catching duties in San Francisco after Buster Poseys injury.
Gardner is the former Clovis High School, Fresno City College and Fresno State star pitcher who spent 13 seasons in the big leagues.
