  Dozens of motorcycle riders depart from the parking lot of The Fresno Bee to start the 2013 Riders 4 Kids motorcycle run in Fresno on Saturday. The ride was held to benefit Children’s Hospital of Central California.

  For many years, I have been writing to The Bee and was profiled in The Bee. My periodic writings have been in response to social ills, political injustices and corrections to the historically incorrect articles. This I based on my civic duty only.

  With the recent change of the editorial page editor, I no longer see the multi-leveled concerns voiced by The Bee readers. Fresno does not deserve to slip back into provincialism by constriction but be a member of the global society.

  Best letter ever to The Bee

  The recent letter to the editor, "Suggestions for letter writers" (March 12) is the best letter I've read in The Bee in the entire 40-plus years that I have been reading them. Congrats to Sasan Rahmatian for his incisive observations about so many (too many) of the letters submitted to The Bee.

  The Fresno Bee should re-print his letter once a month.

  Mari Wylie, Vice President of Finance, oversees finance functions for the Fresno Bee, Sierra Star, Vida en el Valle and the San Luis Obispo Tribune. Mari re-joined the McClatchy Company in May 2012, following 18 years with Gannett Co. Inc, where she served as Controller for the Visalia Times-Delta, Tulare Advance-Register and Salinas Californian. Earlier in her career, she held positions at the Fresno Bee, Clovis Independent and McClatchy Printing Co. She graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

  Hard to tell difference

  "Fresno faces election crunch" was the headline in The Bee March 9. I was quite shocked that county elections chief Brandi Orth thought so little of the Fresno city voters that she was "especially sensitive about confusion Fresno city voters might have facing two ballots." Come now, how stupid does she think we are? It is a simple matter right? Garbage -- State Senator. Garbage -- State Senator. Wait a minute. Now I am confused.
