  The gas prices are so ridiculous that they keep coming out with these energy cars. I don't see how they are supposed to help with gas prices when they cost a ton of money to own.

  The cars like the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf are supposed to help you save money at the pump, but in reality they aren't because the money you're saving in gas goes to your monthly payment.

  The Chevrolet Volt is $31,645 total and $349 a month on a 36-month lease. Besides that, you have to have $2,499 when you sign for the car -- while the Nissan Leaf starts at $27,000. Is it worth it to spend all that money and not know how long it will last? I don't and I don't see it helping the economy at all.
