  As I was walking recently, I observed a school bus pull over to the side of the road and its flashing red lights begin to pulse. Two very small children were put aboard by their parents. All seemed well, but I was confused by at least six cars that passed the bus without even slowing down.

  I thought maybe the rules had changed, so I walked to the back of the bus and read in big black letters: "STOP WHEN RED LIGHTS ARE FLASHING."

  All this talk lately about keeping our children safe, and some drivers can't even bother to stop for a school bus.
