He's qualified because: The Marauders, 12th-place section D-II finishers a year ago, ran on the heels of Madera South and Clovis North this time in a third-place showing. And Ceballos set the team standard by finishing fourth in the sectional final at 16:14. He placed 70th at state (16:28).

SANTOS CHAVEZ

School: Golden West

Grade: Junior

He's qualified because: A year after placing 14th in section D-II (17:05), he ran with the front pack and finished fifth (16:17).

CODY KINSMAN

School: Clovis North

Grade: Senior

He's qualified because: Broke the 16-minute barrier in the TRAC finals (15:56) and Clovis Invitational (15:59) and led the Broncos' second-place finish at the section D-II championship by placing third (16:08).

ROBERT LEIJA

School: Parlier

Grade: Senior

He's qualified because: Near-miss repeat first-team All-Star was the section's most dominant small-schools runner, successfully defending his D-IV title in 16:21. His 15:55 time at the Clovis Invitational was 11th best overall in the section for the season.

COREY MATTESON

School: Clovis

Grade: Junior

He's qualified because: Established himself as a section runner to watch next year with a remarkably consistent series at Woodward Park -- 16:17 at the Clovis Invitational, 16:10 for seventh in the TRAC, 16:09 for eighth in the section D-I and 16:11 for 55th at state. Then, at the Footlocker West Regionals, he placed third in the Junior Boys at 16:46.

CONNOR NOLEN

School: Clovis North

Grade: Sophomore

He's qualified because: The leading underclassman on a rising power that had only one senior (Kinsman) among its top seven, Nolen 15:54 for fifth place in the TRAC was the section's 10th-best time of the season. He also placed sixth in the section D-II final (16:19).
