He's qualified because: Progressing nicely in a four-year Bears career, his 15:43 for third place at the TRAC finals was sixth best in the section for the season. He finished fifth in section D-I (15:52) and 39th at state (15:59). "He went from unsure of himself as a freshman to wanting to go to college as a senior, and that's great to see," coach Brian Weaver says.
