Achievements

Donald Martin, employed by Clovis Unified School District, successfully completed the certified arborist examination administered through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the local chapter of the ISA.

Allison Schroeder-Mankey of Fresno received her Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree with academic honors at the commencement ceremony for the fall quarter 2011 graduating class at Palmer College of Chiropractic's West Campus. She is a member of the largest chiropractic family in the profession, with more than 70 immediate and extended relatives who are doctors of chiropractic.

Announcements

Breaking Free Revival Center, nominated through Walmart's 12 Days of Giving campaign, was selected from more than 5,400 nominations to receive $5,000 to help achieve its mission. The center was selected for serving thousands of families each month to ensure they have food on their table.

The Conklin Company names Gerry Thiesen of Clovis as a 2012 Master Contractor. This is the 19th year he has held this prestigious title.

Michelle Walker had outstanding customer service for the month of November for US Mortgage Home Loan Center.

Awards

Darden Architects, Inc. has been awarded the 2011-2014 Intern Development Program Firm Award from the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. The 2011-2014 IDP Firm Award is given to firms that make extraordinary efforts to mentor emerging professionals on their path to architecture licensure.

Macy Perry of Prather won the intermediate showmanship division at the California Angus Days Junior Heifer Show on Dec. 4 in Turlock.

New Faces

Deanna Souza has joined Century 21 Jordan Link Real Estate as associate agent to Mitch Choboian. She is a member of the Tulare County Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, and the Tulare County Multiple Listing Service.

Fue Houa Thao has joined the Community Housing Council of Fresno as a housing counselor. She brought over eight years of experience in providing housing services to the Southeast Asian community.

Children's Hospital Central California has added the following doctors to its staff: Joshua Colvin, pediatric emergency physician; Anna Hunter, pediatric gastroenterologist; Stephanie Jones, pediatric surgeon; Andrew Marks, pediatric urologist; Jennifer McDermott, pediatric hospitalist; Edward Nagel, diagnostic radiologist; and Gaayana Raju, pediatric urologist.

Alyssa Nichols has joined California Citrus Mutual as the new director of public affairs. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in June of 2011 where she earned a bachelor's degree in agribusiness.

Harpreet Singh has joined Premier Valley Bank in the position of vice president/real estate lending officer. He began his banking career with the commercial banking office of Wells Fargo Bank and worked for the last four years with United Security Bank as a commercial lending officer.

Danny Cohen has joined BSK Associates to manage the Fresno branch office. He will be responsible for branch operations and expanding BSK's geotechnical, environmental and construction services divisions. He joins BSK after 26 years with Hetherington Engineering in Carlsbad.

Promotions

Sam Babcock has been promoted to senior accountant at the accounting firm of Morse Wittwer Sampson.
