If you just can't take preparing another holiday meal for the family on Christmas Day, a few restaurants are open to take over the work.

This isn't a comprehensive list, so call your favorite restaurant to see whether it's open. And be sure to check whether it has special hours as many close early or open late.

Ducey's On the Lake in Bass Lake is hosting a Christmas Day Buffet from noon to 8 p.m. A carving station featuring prime rib, roast leg of lamb and roast turkey is the highlight of the buffet. The buffet also includes a variety of salads, entrees, sides and desserts.

Adults cost $32.95, seniors $26.95 and children (4-12) $16.95. Reservations are required. Call (559) 642-3131.

Viktoria's Place restaurant, an Armenian restaurant in Fresno that also serves pizza, calzone and sandwiches, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Christmas Day. It's at 488 W. Herndon Ave., near Ingram Avenue.

All three Marie Callender's in Fresno will be open from 10:30 a.m to 9 p.m.

They'll be serving their holiday menu, which includes a choice of entrees including turkey, honey-glazed ham, beef Stroganoff, salmon and a vegetable platter.

Adults cost $19.99 and kids cost $8.99.

Some Asian restaurants will open on Dec. 25, and they often have limited hours, so call before you go.

Some restaurants that will be open: Mitsui Buffet in Clovis, Imperial Garden and China Chop Suey in Fresno.

Japanese restaurants Edo-ya Tokyo Cuisine in Fresno and the Japanese Kitchen in Clovis are both open from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

In Three Rivers, it's business as usual at the Sequoia Cider Mill Restaurant, which is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Day.

If you want to do something special and don't mind driving, the dining room at the Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park is open 3-9 p.m. with a special menu. Adults cost $47.50 and children ages 6 to 12 are $22.50.

Erna's Elderberry House in Oakhurst is hosting a six-course Christmas dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. The meal costs $98 per adult. Reservations recommended. Details: (559) 683-6860.

Casinos are also good places to find open restaurants on Christmas Day.

All of the restaurants at the Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino in Coarsegold will be open on Christmas Day. Nativos, an Italian restaurant at the casino, is hosting a special Christmas meal in addition to its regular menu.

Several restaurants will be open at Table Mountain in Friant, including a $15 all-day brunch buffet.
