Toys for Tots is in need of gifts and donations this Christmas season.
The Marine Corps League, a group of veterans who organize the program, said Tuesday that as many as 75,000 Fresno County children will not receive Christmas presents unless many more toys and much more money are donated in the next few days.
"We don't need one caring person to donate thousands of toys," said Bob Small, Marine Corps League commandant, "we need thousands of caring people to donate at least one toy each."
New, unwrapped toys and donations can be dropped off at any branch of the Educational Employees Credit Union or any Fresno fire station until 6 p.m. Friday or at any participating hair salon or toy store in Fresno and Clovis until 5 p.m. Saturday.
Outside the Fresno and Clovis area, toys and donations will be welcome at United Health Center clinics and Women, Infants and Children sites until 5 p.m. Friday.
