A Clovis man has been arrested in connection with a double-fatal collision Sunday morning at the intersection of Minnewawa and Barstow avenues in Clovis.

Larry Garcia, 29, of Clovis was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.

The Fresno County Coroner's Office identified the victims of the two-car collision as Jessica Matthes, 31, of Sacramento and Keith Smith, 34, of Clovis.

Clovis police said Garcia has been identified as the alleged driver of a black Toyota that was involved in a collision with a white Acura at about 2 a.m.

Police said Smith, driver of the Acura, was killed instantly. The Coroner's Office said Matthes, a passenger in the Acura, died at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

Garcia sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
