He's qualified because: After being named North Yosemite League Player of the Year as a sophomore, his numbers improved yet somehow he only received the fourth-most points in this season's all-league voting.

He batted .451 with 10 doubles, six triples and 12 home runs in 91 at bats for a 1.088 slugging percentage – among the top 20 in the state.

Contributed to 23-6 team that shared the NYL title with Madera South at 13-2.

He drove in 34 runs, scored 45, stole 20 bases in 22 attempts and, following the season, played in the state's North-South Showcase for juniors.
