School: Buchanan

Class: Junior

Position: Pitcher

He's qualified because: One of the section's most improbable stories in years, he emerged from a four-year hiatus in competitive baseball.

His record this season was 11-0 with a 1.02 ERA, and he delivered against top-shelf competition.

Was named Tri-River Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year.

From a 2-1 win over eventual Division II champion Frontier on Feb. 23 to a 7-1 early TRAC showdown conquest of Clovis West on March 22 to a 9-3 defeat of Centennial on May 26 for the D-I title on the final day of the season, he didn't blink on the section's brightest stage.

"Don't be fooled by his quiet, nonchalant demeanor," Bears coach Tom Donald says. "Inside, he has a heart of a warrior."
