He's qualified because: The Bee's boys cross country Runner of the Year in the fall fought through calf problems all season to win the Central Section Masters Championships 3,200 (9:17.26) by 4 seconds and place second in the 1,600 (4:14.45).

He placed 20th and ninth in the 3,200 (9:09.68) and 1,600 (4:12.09) at the CIF State Championships.

His state trials 1,600 time of 4:11.92 was No. 1 in the section for the season, No. 7 all time and No. 4 all time for the junior class.
