He's qualified because: An impressive family tree now branches here after he won the section triple jump (47-8) and placed fifth in the long jump (21-10 3/4).
The Cougars' first boys gold-medalist in the triple jump since the event debuted in the section finals in 1933.
He follows sister Saylah's section-winning 1,600 in 2008, half-sister Lindsay Hall's section gold in the 300 low hurdles at Clovis West in 1999 and his mother, as the former Lori Guinn, setting section hurdling standards in the 1970s.
