She's qualified because: Earned three medals at the Central Section Division I finals, placing second in the 100 free (53.61), third in the 50 free (24.70) and fourth in the 400 free relay (3:44.51), where she swam the anchor leg.

Hatayama became the first girl in County/Metro Athletic Conference history to swim faster than 25 seconds in the 50 free while winning that event at the league meet.

Was also part of league record-setting 200 free relay team.

Placed second in the 50 free at the Clovis West Invitational.
