He's qualified because: The sixth-seeded Gong reached the Central Section individual tournament semifinals before losing to eventual runner-up DJ Johnson of East.

Rebounded from there to defeat Bakersfield Christian's fourth-seeded Sullivan Roche 6-1, 6-2 for third place.

Also beat fourth-seeded Alec Bessinger of Clovis East in the quarterfinals.

Went 15-0 in Central Sequoia League play, winning its end-of-season tournament.

Gong has a career record of 46-10 in singles and 18-7 in doubles.
