He's qualified because: The Bears' No. 1 singles player was given the fifth seed for the Central Section individual playoffs, where he reached the quarterfinals before losing 6-2, 6-1 against Bakersfield Christian's Sullivan Roche.

"He's a great player with a ton of potential who we look forward to seeing for three more years," Buchanan coach Jonathan Slater said.

Wang got on a roll during the second half of Tri-River Athletic Conference play, going 4-1 before placing second in the league tournament.

Named first-team All-TRAC.
