She's qualified because: Won third straight East Yosemite League singles title en route to No. 10 seed for Central Section individual singles tournament.

Upset seventh-seeded Jasmine Zaragoza of Sunnyside 6-3, 6-2 in round of 16 before losing to eventual runner-up Gracie Jacobs of Garces 6-2, 6-1 in a semifinal.

It was only loss in Martinez's 41-1 season in singles. Also went 11-2 in doubles. Looking to play next season at Biola or Point Loma Nazarene.

He said it: – "She did a stellar job. To only have one loss, that's a tremendous job on her part. She's got a real good work ethic. She would come out for team practices and even after that, she always had a hitting partner and would hit for hours after we quit. Her all-around game is really solid. Her ground strokes are solid and her forehand and her serve are probably her two biggest weapons. This was her breakout year." – Monache coach Gary Perez
