School: Clovis North

He's qualified because: Without a senior among their top five players, the Broncos placed second to Clovis West in the Tri-River Athletic Conference and won the Central Section Division II title by 80 strokes over Mission Oak. They were led by juniors Alanna Loyd and Taylor Shweiki, sophomore Alicia Hobbs and freshmen Taylor Vaughn and Shilpa Ati.

Dedication I: Ramos points first to his Clovis High sweetheart and eventual wife, the former Janine Cruz: "As coaches we spent a lot of time with young people, often at a cost for your family, and my wife paid the price."

Dedication II: Ramos points second to his assistant, Kathleen Scrivner, a Memorial graduate and three-time golf All-American at Stanford under the name Kathleen McCarthy: "She's the best I can have."

He said it: "It's ironic that our school has its first senior class but none of our starting five are graduating. But I knew we were gaining ground in the County/Metro Athletic Conference the past two years and I knew we would compete well in the TRAC. And going into the section team tournament I knew we were favored because there was about 100 strokes difference. I'm very hopeful next year we'll compete for the TRAC championship." – Ramos.
