A 37-year-old Sacramento-area man was arraigned Wednesday on charges he developed an online relationship with a Clovis teenage girl to have sex with her, police said.

The man posed online as a 17-year-old boy and built a relationship with the girl, which led to a meeting in Fresno for dinner. The girl ran out of the restaurant and reported the incident to Clovis police.

The man was arrested July 14 at his Citrus Heights home.

Sacramento law enforcement officials also are pursuing charges that the man downloaded child pornography onto his computer, Clovis police said.
