Bee Player of the Year Eric Karch of Clovis West High, a pitcher/shortstop, was named to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State baseball first team.
The Pepperdine-bound Karch helped the Golden Eagles to a No.4 state ranking. He went 11-1 and hit .402 with seven home runs and 41 RBIs.
Making the second team were Buchanan senior Drew Merlo (pitcher), Jacob Alvarez of Clovis West (infield), Adam McCurley of Central Section Division IV champion Washington (multipurpose) and Stockdales Isaiah Turner (outfield).
Third-team picks were seniors William Rosado of Clovis East (pitcher/outfield), Matt Telesco of Bullard (infield) and Tyler Painton of Centennial (pitcher/first baseman).
Members of the All-California Small Schools Team: catchers J.C. Thornton of Central Valley Christian and Chase Graham of Bakersfield Christian; pitchers Tyler Cook of Chowchilla and Travis Walker of Kerman; and infielders Kenny Corona of Fowler and Mitchell Scott of Kingsburg.
