Vitals: Liberty-Madera Ranchos, senior, catcher
She's qualified because: Fourth-year varsity starter helped power Hawks to second straight Division V title and No. 1 state ranking in D-V by Cal-Hi Sports with her bat (.439 average, team-high nine home runs and 35 RBIs), her arm (picked several straying runners off the bases and few teams tried to steal on her) and her brains (she's called pitches on her own since midway through her freshman season). Hit .511 with 46 doubles, 25 homers and 137 RBIs in her career. Will play for Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College next season.
He said it: "Devin exudes so much confidence at this stage of the game. The girls look up to her for leadership. They trust, as her coaches do as well, that she will get the job done behind the plate. Teams don't run on her because she has a phenomenal arm. And with the bat, she's incredibly dangerous. Teams pitched around her a lot this season." Liberty coach Bob Barber
